Drag Week 2013: The Daily Driver Class

The largest class of racing at HOT ROD Drag Week is Daily Driver, where there are no rules other than the fact that the cars can’t hand in a timeslip quicker than 10.80. The Daily Drivers race for five days at five different tracks to establish a five-day average e.t. that (minus a tenth for breakout protection) becomes the dial-in for a bracket race on Day 5 of Drag Week. In this video, HOT ROD’s Elana Scherr spoke to a few of the contenders in Daily Driver at Drag Week 2013.

  1. They should make a class where all you got in the car is like 10,000 dollars or so and all the parts and car has to come from a junkyard and show receipts , you would get more millennials tinkering with mechanics and to save more classic cars from the crusher.

  2. These guys are AWESOME but Alex Taylor wins it for me, sure there's (probably) better drivers, cars and stories…… but a 16 year old girl building a cleaming camaro with her dad and family and coming to drag week……that could be a hollywood movie….
